Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 October 2026
BarePeek does not collect, store, sell or share any data about you. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
What BarePeek does with your files
BarePeek reads the documents and photos you choose and shows you the hidden details inside them. All of this happens on your iPhone or Mac. Your files are never uploaded to us or to any other server, and we have no servers that could receive them. BarePeek does not use the network. It is read only: it never changes or deletes your files.
Access to your files
BarePeek can only open the files you pick in the file picker, drop on it, or send to it with the share sheet or Open With. It cannot browse your other files. When a file arrives through Mail or the share sheet, BarePeek works on a temporary copy and deletes that copy when it is done with it. On a Mac, BarePeek remembers where an opened file is only while the app is open, so you can open the original from the list. That memory is not saved.
Data we collect
None. BarePeek has no analytics, crash reporting service or advertising tools, and contains no third-party code that collects data. For troubleshooting it keeps a small log on your device with times, counts and error codes, never file names or contents. It is only shared if you choose to send it from the info screen, under Something wrong?, and you can clear it at any time. The system may store a few standard settings on your device. They stay on your device.
Reports you save
If you save a report of what BarePeek found in a file, it is created on your device and goes only where you choose to put it. It can contain names and details from that file, so treat it like the file itself.
Children
BarePeek collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
